Is it the driver or the vehicle that is covered on Auto Assured Membership?

Auto Assured 24 Hour Road Rescue Cover is either vehicle based or personal membership. Vehicle based membership is membership where services are offered and limited to a specific car registered with Auto Assured. Services are offered irrespective of who is driving the member vehicle. Vehicle Membership is not transferable to any other vehicle.

Personal Based Membership This is a premium product. This is membership where services are offered and limited to a specific individual, in exclusion of any other person, while driving or traveling in any personal car up-to 2.5 tons excluding vehicles for P.S.V use. The member must be a driver or passenger in the broken down vehicle and they must show proof of identity to the Rescue Team. Personal Membership is not transferable to any other person and services are only offered where membership fees are fully paid and membership is current.

How do I pay for Auto Assured Membership  and when am I covered?

Payment can be made by cheque or cash to Auto Assured, Your insurance broker or agent or through any other Appointed reseller. Cover commences 24 hours after the premium is paid in full and membership form is completed and dully signed.

How does your premium compare with other rescue organisations?

With a one product, one price policy we are able to offer savings of between 30-40% on the range of services offered especially costs of towing and recovery, ambulance and Accident Management.

What happens if I break down and require assistance?

Simply call the 24-hour help line and Auto Assured Customer Service Officers will begin the rescue process. After checking membership details, the customer service officer will confirm the exact location of your vehicle and will arrange for a rescue vehicle to be sent to the scene.

When I call for a Rescue how long will I have to wait before help arrives?

The average call out time is between 15 and 20 minutes, depending       the location of the member from the Central Business district and  movement of traffic.

Does Auto Assured repair tyres?

No. The Rescue crew  only do tyre changes but in cases where the spare wheel also has problem we  will arrange to take it for repairs at the members cost.

Does  Auto Assured rescue crew  carry fuel, batteries and incur fuel cost in case of delivery?

Auto Assured rescue crew will  only carry  fuel if the member is going to refund after delivery but does not replace for the battery but instead you are referred to our dealers i.e. chloride exide for purchase at a member  discount.

Does Auto Assured provide Special tows?

Auto Assured has a well trained and skilled staff of mechanics and based on  the assessment they give in regard to towing then we shall recommend for a  special tow if not the member shall utilize the services we offer i.e.  Straight tow or lift -tow

For upcountry agents do we pay upfront or on invoicing?

Auto assured only facilitates but payment is discussed between member  and the third party agent

In case of lapsed membership can I call and pay (renewal)?

If membership has lapsed one can only be assisted if renewal is effected.

In case of mechanical/electrical faults can we do repairs/ replacements?

Repairs nor replacement of parts cannot be done at the scene but instead we ask  member to seek garage attention.

In case of an accident and  the vehicle can  move on its own power, do you drive member’s car to his garage?

Auto Assured does not drive members car but can do so if very necessary but at the owners risk.

In case you  are blamed by the Police for an accident does Auto Assured pay the cash bail and do they represent you in court?

Auto Assured does not pay fines neither do they represent members in a  court of law.

In case of an accident injury to a third party does Auto Assured pay for the cost of Ambulance and Towing of the third party and car?

Auto Assured only covers the cost if its involving the member and their car.

If one’s insurance cover is not through a broker/agent but direct, do you also report the claim to the insurance company?

Auto Assured in such scenarios reports the claim to the insurance
company

How can I get a replacement Membership card?

By writing to the Customer Service Department via fax, email or letter. A replacement card will be issued within 3 working days at a cost of kshs. 290/-.

I’ve changed cars, how do I effect the change in Auto Assured records?

Fill out the change of membership details / replacement of card form in the website or by communicating to the Customer Service/Membership Department via fax, email or letter. A replacement card will be issued within 3 working days at a cost of kshs. 290/-

NB: This applies to Auto Assured Lady and Blue Membership

I require my road or driver’s license renewed. How do I go about it?

By calling Auto Assured where the requirements will be communicated to you. You will then deliver the required documents and fees to the office our offices on Lenana Road where the renewal will be processed within 3 working days and you will collect the renewed license from our offices.

I’m an existing member of Auto Assured. Can I renew my membership or buy membership for another vehicle at any of the Auto Assured Resellers?

Yes, this is possible.

On renewal of my Auto Assured membership, will I be issued with another membership card?

No, the membership card issued on inception remains valid.

Does Auto Assured process TLB licenses, transfer of ownership of motor vehicle, replacement of lost logbooks or driver’s licenses and facilitate inspection of motor vehicles?

Auto Assured will only process the renewal of road license and driver’s licenses.

Do you offer garage assistance?

Auto assured only  offers rescue services in the event of an accident, Road side breakdown and vehicle theft neither do we recommend any garage for you.

What happens outside Nairobi in case of accident or breakdown?

In such an event auto assured facilitates the rescue by reaching out to its appointed agents though the client meets the cost of service to the agent.

What do you mean by Accident assistance?

This where you give us a call in the event of an accident and we shall send crew to the scene of accident to assist in accident procedures i.e. bring the police ,arrange for ambulance in case of injury, collect accident details for insurance purposes, assist one obtain a police abstract, Relay urgent messages to the family, Provide towing and recovery services if required.

Who is to blame in case of an accident?

This is the person found by the police as responsible for causing the accident.
